How did we decide what to put into the Renaissance Moisturizer?

How did we decide what to put into our signature anti-aging moisturizer?

There is no fountain of youth, but our goal with Renaissance, was to get as close as possible.  The entire philosophy surrounding Rinnova Skincare is to heal and restore your skin to a healthier state and appearance as quickly as possible, and to protect it from further damage in the future.

We created every product with the concept that nature’s secrets augmented by scientific discoveries can be combined to produce truly effective products that feel great to use.   With an instant anti-aging formula, a few key ingredients are needed:  heavily moisturizing actives, antioxidants, and peptides.  Here are three of the more powerful ingredients in our special formula:

Sodium Hyaluronate

Sodium hyaluronate is an excellent emollient humectant that moisturizes, lubricates and soothes the skin.  By improving the hydration of the skin, fine lines and wrinkles instantly erase.  This is the same concept behind dermal fillers which plump up creases and wrinkles in the facial skin.

Vitamins E, C & A

Antioxidants like vitamins E and C are critical to protecting the skin from free radical damage caused by the environment (UV radiation, chemical pollutants) and certain lifestyle choices (smoking, drinking).  Vitamin C is elemental in the production of collagen, which is what skin is made of.

Peptides

Peptides are chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins in the skin.  They are able to penetrate the top layer of our skin and send signals to our cells to let them know how to function.  When collagen breaks down in the skin, wrinkles form.  Peptides applied topically to the skin can send a signal to collagen to prompt the formation of new collagen, and you develop the appearance of more youthful, supple skin.

The most popular peptides for skin care are collagen stimulating peptides, such as Matrixyl, copper peptides, which have shown to reduce inflammation, and neuropeptides.  Neuropeptides like the ones in our Renaissance moisturizing cream can relax facial muscles, therefore reducing the appearance of wrinkles, similar to the actions of BOTOX.

For the most part, peptides take time to work (except for the neuropeptides which act within days).  Peptides are best applied in serums or creams over a long period of time.  You can start to see results in four to 12 weeks, but if not kept up, you will notice the results fade away.
